California Duo Unearths $10 Million Worth of Gold Coins
In California’s Gold Country, Sierra Nevada, a couple discovered 1,427 gold coins, known as the Saddle Ridge Hoard. Although valued at $27,980 in face value, these coins are actually worth approximately $10 million, marking a significant historical find.

Minted between 1847 and 1894, the Saddle Ridge Hoard is America’s largest known gold coin discovery. Found on the couple’s private property, they cleverly concealed their treasure in an old ice chest under wood, biding their time before deciding to sell.
