Plastic has become so commonplace that most of us take it for granted. We know that plastic is generally bad for the environment because it doesn’t degrade over time. At the same time, it’s kind of hard to avoid buying plastic containers when that’s the only thing available at the store. A lot of people have high hopes for a future with far less plastic. 

Many companies and consumers are becoming more conscious about the use of single-use plastic packaging. Hopefully, this will catch on and become more mainstream. Eco-friendly, biodegradable materials are constantly being developed in an attempt to replace plastics. Maybe one will stick and completely replace plastic as the norm in our packaging.
