#2: Endless Paperwork
The healthcare system is notoriously slow to adopt administrative technology. We don’t blame them. Can you imagine converting a whole hospital and its staff to a new computer or digital filing system? It’s a huge task. That’s why most hospitals, nurses, and doctors still use physical paperwork in one form or another.
It’s pretty mind-blowing, considering how high-tech a lot of other industries have become in recent years. However, taking care of people’s health is a serious business. If a paperwork system works, it works. One nurse shared that their hospital is slowly phasing out paperwork and opting for digital systems. The thought of nurses using physical paper to record patient information will be wild one day.
