#14: Winter Weather Woes
We think of snow, hot cocoa, and icy streets when we think of wintertime. However, that might be a thing of the past very soon. The glaciers are melting, and world temperatures are getting hotter. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the world’s average temperature has risen by 2° F since 1850.
Two degrees over that amount of time might not seem like a big deal, but it has a huge impact on the environment. Melting glaciers lead to rising sea levels, which can lead to massive destruction along the shorelines. Winters might look a little different for future generations. Welcome to the new normal.
