#39: Melting Pot
I have to say that I never really thought about this until I started traveling more. Growing up, my idea of “Chinese food” was basically just takeout from the local strip mall. But then I went to China and realized that authentic Chinese cuisine is a million times better than anything I’d ever had in the States!
I guess it’s kind of funny how we’ve taken all these amazing culinary traditions from around the world and turned them into something that’s almost unrecognizable. But hey, at least we’re trying, right? And who knows, maybe someday we’ll even learn how to cook pasta correctly (I’m looking at you, Olive Garden).
