It’s bad enough that Hollywood would fake relationships for the sake of publicity, but fake marriages? That’s a whole other level. It’s crazy to think that someone like Rock Hudson could be forced into a sham marriage just to keep up appearances. It really puts into perspective the kind of pressure that Hollywood puts on its actors. 

And the fact that he couldn’t come out until he was diagnosed with AIDS just shows how little progress we’ve made as a society regarding accepting people for who they are. It’s a shame that people have to live in fear of being their true selves just because of the industry they’re in.
